Day #3 - Night School Marathon

It's Day 3... (Or 4 when this is posted. Whatever.)

So this is pretty much how my day went.

In no way am I implying that I'm not enjoying the Night School series. Hell no.
But... I. AM. SO. TIRED.
When I'm tired, my reading takes a hit. So I've only read a pathetic 20 pages ONLY.
I need sleep. And a truck load of coffee. Perhaps someone to make my coffee as well. Sigh.
I'm determined to complete the remaining 2 and a half books in the Night School series by Sunday, but I've had a busy week so far and right now I need sleep. I hope everyone else is doing better.
Tomorrow I will hopefully be back with full power and finish Night School: Legacy.

From what I've read so far, it looks like I'm in for an emotional roller-coaster because CARTER and SYLVAIN. Why must those two continuously shatter my emotions?!!!

Okay I'm done.

Entered my giveaway yet? It's super easy! You could win Night School: Fracture by C.J. Daugherty. It's open to all in Europe! Giveaway ends this Sunday, midnight. (GMT)

Day #2 - Night School Marathon

Exhausted yet? It's only Day 2! (Or technically, it's Day 3 when I post this but let's not think of the minor details here.)

So where am I with the books I hear you say? (Or not.)
Well, I managed to finish Night School, Book 1 in the series so wohoo! And I absolutely LOVED it. I have no idea how CJ does it but her writing is freaking amazing. There was a perfect balance between descriptions and dialogue and as I mentioned before, god, that first book was CREEPY. I really thought there was going to be some kind of paranormal entities ready to jump out which would result in some more sleepless nights and perhaps some wailing if my family are lucky. (thankfully this didn't occur.)

So what team am I on? WELL...

Neither. I CANNOT DECIDE. I simply CAN'T. Both Carter and Sylvain are very different but both share feelings for Allie. (Lucky her.) Carter would be the obvious pick - the loner who is bad news and whom Allie should stay away from - but there's something about Sylvain that captures my attention. (And heart.)
I really thought I would be able to pick between the two, as most readers have done, but it's not easy. I'm back to Team Allie again. She's a kick-ass protagonist, I adore her. She is now one of my favourite female protagonists, if not the best.

I moved onto Night School: Legacy. How could I wait? There are so many mysteries I yet to uncover and I'm suffocating here. MUST. READ. MORE.
I am 157 pages into Legacy and all I can say is SYLVAIN. WHY CARTER. STOP.
I am sad. Again.

I'm off to read some more. And maybe cry as well. It's bloody awesome though.

SO HEY, have you entered my giveaway yet? You could win Book 3 in the series! Night School: Fracture! It's open to all European residents! Open until the end of #NightSchoolMarathon so that's this Sunday at midnight. (GMT)

Good luck and happy reading!

Day #1 - Night School Marathon

Now it all begins...

So #NightSchoolMarathon has finally descended upon us! These 7 days will be spent crazing and fawning over the Night School series by C.J. Daugherty! So this first day, as I yet to read the series, I picked up the Book 1 - Night School.

I can say with confidence that I feel pretty good about this series.

So let's begin with how Day 1 went. My first day was pretty crazy seeing as it was also Eid ( an Islamic festival) so most of the day I was out and about celebrating with family and friends. I managed to read 30 or so pages in the morning and I fell in love with the book already. CJ's writing is very addicting, it was very hard for me to put it down! Once I got home, I went straight back to reading and read around 170 more pages.

One thing, is this book meant to be scary? Most of the time I was pretty jumpy from reading some parts and I didn't even expect it! After reading Say Her Name by James Dawson, I hadn't picked up any thiller/horror related books so it's great to have some form of creepy-ness!

Needless to say, I am really enjoying Night School. I haven't decided what 'team' I am on. I speak of Sylvain and Carter here, both interesting in their own way. I love how Sylvain is French and so charming and mysterious but I also love Carter's bad boy know-it-all attitude and he is also mysterious! I guess that puts me on Team Allie for now.

I want to attend Cimmeria Academy! Where do I sign up CJ?

So that's my update. How is everyone else doing? Anyone picked up a different book from the series? Let me know!

As the week goes on, I decided to host a giveaway where one lucky winner will be receiving a copy of Book 3 in the series, Night School: Fracture.
Please note, this giveaway is open to residents living in Europe only.
This is open throughout the whole week of #NightSchoolMarathon and closes midnight Sunday 3rd August 2014. Good luck and happy reading!

Night School Marathon!

Ever read the Night School series by CJ Daugherty? Are you still in the process of reading it? Or are you one of those readers who yet to pick up the first book?

Procrastinate no more!

So during the latest #UKYAchat on Twitter hosted by Lucy at Queen of Contemporary, I had mentioned how I hoped to start reading the Night School series this summer and would love to marathon the books. Unfortunately, I yet to experience the glorious world CJ has crafted but I've heard so many positive and great things about this series and I'm itching to dig in and find out for myself! I haven't had much motivation to start reading them and I feel like I'm not the only one in this position, so I thought why not hold a marathon where everyone can join in? Pretty sure that will motivate some of us! Now that the 4th installment in the series Resistance has been released, it couldn't be a more perfect time to start reading this series!

Quoting CJ here:

So I'm making it happen CJ!

Here's the plan. From Monday 28th July -  Sunday 3rd August 2014 (GMT), I'll be holding a Night School Marathon. I think this would be a great opportunity to get in some reading and start clearing those intimidating TBR piles and if you've been meaning to start this series or continue from where you left off, it would be a great time to join in! If you're on Twitter, which I'm sure you are, you can share your experiences and keep up to date with how others are getting on using the hashtag #NightSchoolMarathon!

This is open to anyone and EVERYONE! You're free to join in at anytime. I'll be hoping to read all 4 books within the week and look forward to anyone wanting to join me! I'll be updating my progress on both Twitter and my blog.

Also, keep at eye out as I'll also be holding a giveaway during the week!

Hope to see some of you joining in!
